What is your idea of perfect happiness?
On holiday with my husband at our favourite resort in St Lucia, lying on the beach and reading a trashy novel!

Coming towards the end of my life and having major regrets

Deplore is a strong word! I like to spend a lot of time in my own company and sometimes I can come across as a little anti-social

I am going to choose two people and say my parents. They made me into the person I am today and I wouldn’t have achieved a fraction of what I have without their unwavering love and support

Annoyance mainly at the government’s handling of the coronavirus crisis

On what occasion do you lie?
I very rarely (if ever) lie. I just can’t do it – I am honest to a fault!

I am deathly pale and am incapable of tanning!

I don’t like the word “despise” but I am not a fan of Donald Trump…

Getting into Oxford and being the first person in my immediate family to go to university

I think I would like to come back as a dog – as long as they have good owners, they seem to have a pretty chilled life!

On the coast in Northern Ireland – the older I get, the more homesick for Northern Ireland I become

Claire McGowan – Claire is from Northern Ireland but I didn’t meet her until Oxford. She writes brilliantly and when she writes about Northern Ireland, I am immediately transported home

Which historical figure do you most identify with?
She is still alive but I have a lot of admiration for Mary McAleese, a Northern Irish woman and lawyer who was President of Ireland from 1997 to 2011

My parents and my younger brother

I love Irish names such as Lorcan, Saoirse, Oisin or Sorcha

I don’t have any and if I did, I would work very hard to do something about it!
